Technical failures, incorrect student records and conflicting results have sparked widespread criticism of the Karachi matric result system, prompting BSEK to establish a special help desk.
Karachi’s matriculation result announcement descended into confusion after technical glitches and data errors disrupted the Board of Secondary Education Karachi (BSEK) system, leaving thousands of students unable to verify their examination results.
Soon after the Class X annual results were published, the board’s online portal crashed repeatedly under heavy traffic. As students struggled to access their marks, numerous complaints emerged regarding incorrect roll numbers, altered personal information and inconsistent examination records.
Several students reported that their names appeared correctly but were linked to the wrong roll numbers. Others said their father’s name had been changed, while some claimed the same roll number displayed different results at different times. There were also reports of students initially marked as “pass” later appearing as “fail” or “absent.”
According to reports, hundreds of examination records may have been uploaded incorrectly or entered inaccurately into the board’s database, raising serious concerns over the credibility of the published results.
The issue sparked widespread criticism on social media, with students and parents questioning the reliability of the board’s automated result system. Many parents alleged that candidates who appeared in the examinations were mistakenly marked absent, while others pointed to discrepancies in marks and personal details.
