Salman Khan’s upcoming war drama Maatrubhumi is reportedly facing an uncertain release schedule, with industry reports indicating the film could be postponed until 2027 due to unresolved production and release-related challenges.
Originally announced as Battle of Galwan, the film is inspired by the 2020 Galwan Valley clash and was later retitled Maatrubhumi during production. Reports suggest the project has encountered delays after concerns were raised over certain content, including references related to China. The filmmakers are reportedly working to complete the remaining formalities, but no final release date has been confirmed.
Trade insiders claim the pending issues have made it increasingly difficult to secure a suitable theatrical window, especially as most major festive release slots are already occupied by high-profile Bollywood films. Salman Khan is also known for avoiding direct box-office clashes whenever possible, making the selection of a new release date even more challenging.
The Dussehra holiday period was reportedly considered an ideal option, but October’s release calendar is already packed with films including Raftaar, starring Rajkummar Rao, Gunmaaster G9, featuring Emraan Hashmi and Genelia Deshmukh, and the much-awaited Ramayana.
