Pakistan’s Ministry of Religious Affairs has secured an important relaxation in passport renewal rules, allowing prospective Hajj 2027 pilgrims to renew their passports before the usual eligibility period to ensure timely completion of the application process.
ISLAMABAD: Pakistan’s Ministry of Religious Affairs has announced a significant facilitation measure for intending Hajj 2027 pilgrims by allowing them to renew their passports before the standard renewal period. The move aims to help applicants complete travel documentation well ahead of the Hajj application process.
According to the ministry’s spokesperson, the Directorate General of Immigration and Passports has issued instructions to all passport offices across Pakistan and overseas to accept and process early passport renewal requests submitted by prospective Hajj pilgrims.
The spokesperson said the decision was made following a request from the Ministry of Religious Affairs. Under Passport Rules 3(c), individuals planning to perform Hajj in 2027 will now be eligible to renew their passports before the normal renewal timeline, removing a major hurdle for applicants.
The ministry also clarified that every applicant for Hajj 2027 must possess a Pakistani passport that remains valid until November 16, 2027. Applications submitted without a passport valid through that date will not be accepted.
Officials have urged all intending pilgrims to renew their passports as early as possible to avoid delays during the Hajj application process. The ministry said completing passport renewal in advance will help ensure a smoother registration process and prevent last-minute complications once Hajj applications officially open.
