WASHINGTON: US President Donald Trump has claimed that negotiations between American and Iranian representatives made significant progress during an “all-day negotiation,” while warning that the United States could launch major military strikes if diplomacy ultimately fails.
Speaking in a televised interview with Fox News, Trump expressed confidence that discussions were moving in a positive direction. He also suggested that the strategically important Strait of Hormuz, which has remained closed to commercial shipping since hostilities escalated in late February, could reopen in the near future if negotiations continue successfully.
