Pakistan’s deputy prime minister joins a high-level ministerial conference in Amman as regional leaders seek coordinated diplomatic efforts to address the worsening humanitarian crisis in the occupied Palestinian territories.
AMMAN: Pakistan’s Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Ishaq Dar arrived in Amman on Wednesday to participate in a high-level ministerial conference on the occupied Palestinian territories, reinforcing Pakistan’s diplomatic efforts to support peace and humanitarian relief in the Middle East.
According to Pakistan’s Foreign Office, Dar was welcomed at the airport by Jordanian Foreign Ministry Director Suja Al-Majali and Pakistan’s Ambassador to Jordan, Khurram Sarfraz. His visit comes as regional leaders intensify consultations over the deteriorating humanitarian situation in Gaza and the occupied Palestinian territories.
During the visit, Dar will attend the ministerial conference on occupied Jerusalem, where foreign ministers and senior officials are expected to discuss recent developments in Palestine, humanitarian assistance, and coordinated diplomatic initiatives aimed at restoring regional peace and stability.
The deputy prime minister is also scheduled to meet Jordan’s King Abdullah II to discuss the latest regional developments, Pakistan-Jordan bilateral relations, and opportunities to expand cooperation on issues of mutual interest.
On the sidelines of the conference, Dar is expected to hold separate meetings with several foreign ministers to exchange views on the humanitarian crisis in Gaza, ongoing diplomatic efforts for a lasting ceasefire, and the broader Palestinian issue.
Pakistan has consistently supported the Palestinian cause, calling for an immediate end to hostilities, unrestricted humanitarian access, and a just and lasting political solution. Islamabad continues to advocate for an independent Palestinian state based on the pre-1967 borders, with East Jerusalem as its capital.
