HIT showcases D-248 and S-369 loitering munitions at RAS Expo 2026, highlighting Pakistan’s growing long-range unmanned systems capabilities.
ISLAMABAD: Pakistan’s Heavy Industries Taxila (HIT) has showcased two long-range loitering munition systems, the D-248 and S-369, at the 2026 Indus Robotics and Autonomous Systems (RAS) Expo, highlighting the country’s expanding capabilities in unmanned aerial systems.
The two systems have drawn particular attention because of their reported endurance and range. The D-248 is described as a tailless delta-wing platform with a reported range of 2,200 to 3,000 kilometers, while the S-369 has an aero-delta wing configuration and a stated range of 1,500 to 2,000 kilometers.
According to the specifications provided at the exhibition, the D-248 has a maximum takeoff weight of 240 kilograms and can carry a payload of approximately 30 to 50 kilograms. It has a 3.3-meter wingspan, a reported cruising speed of 185 km/h and a maximum speed of 225 km/h. Its stated endurance is between 12 and 14 hours, with an operating ceiling of up to 4,500 meters.
The S-369 has a reported maximum takeoff weight of between 215 and 225 kilograms and can carry a similar 30-to-50-kilogram payload. Its wingspan is listed at 4 meters, with a cruising speed of 160 to 180 km/h and a maximum speed of about 220 km/h. The system is also reported to have an altitude ceiling of up to 4,500 meters.
The unveiling reflects Pakistan’s broader focus on developing and showcasing indigenous unmanned and autonomous technologies. Loitering munitions combine characteristics associated with drones and precision-guided weapons, allowing them to remain airborne for extended periods before engaging a designated target.
The reported specifications place the D-248 and S-369 among Pakistan’s more ambitious long-range unmanned systems publicly showcased to date. Their emphasis on endurance, payload capacity and extended range could expand the role of unmanned platforms in Pakistan’s broader defense technology portfolio.
