Makkah Joint Defence Agreement: Pakistan, Saudi Arabia and Türkiye Sign Landmark Security Pact

Lorem Ipsum is simply dummy text of the printing and typesetting industry. Lorem Ipsum has been the industry’s standard dummy text ever since the 1500s, when an unknown printer took a galley of type and scrambled it to make a type specimen book. It has survived not only five centuries, but also the leap into electronic typesetting, remaining essentially unchanged.

It was popularised in the 1960s with the release of Letraset sheets containing Lorem Ipsum passages, and more recently with desktop publishing software like Aldus PageMaker including versions of Lorem Ipsum.

MAKKAH: Pakistan, Saudi Arabia and Türkiye have signed a landmark joint defence agreement aimed at strengthening collective security and deterrence, declaring that an armed attack against any one of the three states will be regarded as an attack against all.

The agreement was signed in Makkah on Aug. 7 during the Makkah Al-Mukarramah Summit for Joint Defence, hosted at Al-Safa Palace under the patronage of Saudi Crown Prince and Prime Minister Mohammed bin Salman.

The summit was attended by Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan and Pakistani Prime Minister Muhammad Shehbaz Sharif, who were received by the Saudi crown prince. The meeting reviewed relations among Saudi Arabia, Türkiye and Pakistan, as well as a range of issues of mutual interest.

According to the agreement, the three countries reaffirmed their shared commitment to strengthening collective security and promoting peace, stability and prosperity in the region and beyond.

The pact is designed to enhance collective deterrence against acts of aggression and expand defence cooperation among the three states.

The agreement also builds on the longstanding historical, strategic and fraternal ties among Pakistan, Saudi Arabia and Türkiye, while creating a framework for closer coordination on defence and security matters.
