PML-N President Shehbaz Sharif has nominated Barrister Syed Iftikhar Ali Gilani for the office of Prime Minister of Azad Jammu and Kashmir, Maryam Aurangzeb said.

Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) President Shehbaz Sharif has nominated Barrister Syed Iftikhar Ali Gilani for the office of Prime Minister of Azad Jammu and Kashmir, according to Punjab Senior Minister Maryam Aurangzeb.

Maryam Aurangzeb announced the development in a post on X on Thursday, saying Shehbaz Sharif had nominated Barrister Syed Iftikhar Ali Gilani for the top constitutional office in Azad Jammu and Kashmir.

She said Gilani had also been directed to submit his nomination papers for the election of the AJK prime minister.

The announcement marks PML-N’s decision to field Gilani for the key office in Azad Jammu and Kashmir.

Aurangzeb shared the information through her official X account, attributing the nomination to PML-N President Shehbaz Sharif.
