Pakistan Meteorological Department forecasts hot and humid conditions across most plains, with rain and thunderstorms expected in parts of KP, Punjab and Kashmir.
ISLAMABAD: Hot and humid weather is expected to persist across most plain areas of Pakistan over the next 12 hours, while parts of upper Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, northeast Punjab and Kashmir may receive rain accompanied by strong winds and thunderstorms, according to the Pakistan Meteorological Department (PMD).
The weather forecast offers some relief to several areas, although much of the country’s plains are expected to remain under hot and humid conditions.
In Lahore, hot and humid weather continues to trouble residents, with no significant chance of rain forecast during the next 24 hours. The maximum temperature in the provincial capital is expected to reach 37 degrees Celsius, while the minimum temperature is likely to remain around 28 degrees Celsius.
According to the PMD, reduced wind activity in Lahore has contributed to increased humidity. Winds are expected to blow at around 6 kilometers per hour, while the relative humidity could rise to 73%.
Meanwhile, Karachi is experiencing cloudy conditions, with a possibility of drizzle during the day.
The PMD said the temperature in Karachi is expected to remain between 30 and 32 degrees Celsius, while humidity has reached 77%. The city recorded a minimum temperature of 26.6 degrees Celsius.
The current temperature in Karachi was recorded at around 27 degrees Celsius, with southwesterly winds blowing at approximately 19 kilometers per hour, according to the weather department.
The PMD forecast indicates that weather conditions will vary significantly across the country, with hot and humid conditions dominating the plains while some northern and northeastern areas could receive rain and thunderstorms.
