First Driving License Office Opens in South Waziristan Lower, Transport Branch Announced for Wana

Lorem Ipsum is simply dummy text of the printing and typesetting industry. Lorem Ipsum has been the industry’s standard dummy text ever since the 1500s, when an unknown printer took a galley of type and scrambled it to make a type specimen book. It has survived not only five centuries, but also the leap into electronic typesetting, remaining essentially unchanged.

It was popularised in the 1960s with the release of Letraset sheets containing Lorem Ipsum passages, and more recently with desktop publishing software like Aldus PageMaker including versions of Lorem Ipsum.

The new office will offer online license applications and digital payments, while a dedicated transport branch is also planned for commercial drivers in Wana.

WANA: South Waziristan Lower has received its first formal driving license office, providing local residents with access to LTV, HTV and PSV licensing services through the Transport Department.

The office was formally inaugurated in Wana in the presence of the Additional Commissioner of South Waziristan Lower, the Assistant Commissioner Wana, the Assistant Additional Commissioner, tribal elders, Malik Sheryar Khan and other community representatives.

Speaking at the inauguration, the Additional Commissioner said the establishment of the office was aimed at providing citizens with accessible, transparent and timely government services at the local level.

He said residents would be able to apply for driving licenses online, while online payment would also be available through the relevant Dastak app. The system, he said, would help reduce unnecessary visits to government offices and make the licensing process more convenient.

The official also announced a zero-tolerance policy against corruption in the licensing process.

“There will be neither corruption nor inconvenience for any citizen under this system,” he said, adding that authorities would provide public services through a transparent and simplified process.

During the ceremony, District Officer Anwar Wazir of the Social Welfare Department distributed wheelchairs and other essential items among deserving individuals.

Local drivers, transporters and residents welcomed the establishment of the driving license office, describing it as an important step toward improving civic services and organizing the commercial transport system in the area.

The authorities also announced plans to establish a formal Transport Department branch in Wana for drivers associated with commercial transportation.

Local drivers and transporters expressed hope that the proposed branch would further facilitate licensing and other transport-related matters.

Residents urged the authorities to ensure that the newly established licensing office and proposed Wana branch remain fully operational and provide convenient, transparent, timely and corruption-free government services.
