The International Cricket Council (ICC) has released its latest Test player rankings, with Pakistan captain Babar Azam dropping out of the top 10 among Test batters.
England’s Harry Brook has retained the No. 1 position in the Test batting rankings, while Australia’s Steve Smith moved up one place to second. England’s Joe Root slipped to third.
Babar Azam suffered a five-place decline and is now ranked 15th. Sri Lanka’s Kamindu Mendis climbed two spots to enter the top 10 at No. 10.
Pakistan’s Saud Shakeel made a significant improvement, jumping 15 places to 18th. Sri Lanka’s Sonal Dinusha moved into 25th place.
Mohammad Rizwan dropped seven places to 33rd, while Pakistan Test captain Babar Azam’s fellow batter Shan Masood fell three spots to 41st. Salman Agha also dropped three places and is now ranked 43rd.
In the Test bowling rankings, Australia’s Mitchell Starc continues to hold the top position. New Zealand’s Matt Henry moved up one place to second.
England’s Ollie Robinson made a notable six-place jump to fifth, while Sri Lanka’s Asitha Fernando climbed four spots to 11th.
Pakistan’s Mohammad Abbas is ranked 15th, while England’s Josh Tongue moved up four places to 13th. England fast bowler Gus Atkinson suffered a 10-place drop and is now ranked 24th.
