Rescue 1122 South Waziristan received 3,255 calls in August, including 2,894 fake, unnecessary or irrelevant calls, while 52 patients were rescued.
WANA: Rescue 1122 South Waziristan Upper and Lower has released its monthly emergency report for Aug. 1 to 31, 2026, recording a total of 60 emergency incidents during the month.
According to the report, the emergencies included 43 medical cases, four road traffic accidents, seven firing or violence incidents, five other recovery cases and one blast. No incidents were reported in the remaining emergency categories.
Rescue 1122 teams provided timely medical assistance and safely rescued 52 patients during August. One patient died at the scene or during transportation, according to the report.
The emergency service received a total of 3,255 calls during the month. Of these, 301 were information or drop calls, while 2,894 were classified as fake, unnecessary or irrelevant calls.
Rescue 1122 authorities urged citizens to use the emergency service number only when there is a genuine need. They said responsible use of the service is essential to ensure emergency teams can reach people in distress without unnecessary delays.
During August, Rescue 1122 South Waziristan also provided referral services for 70 patients. Four patients were referred within the district, while 66 were transferred outside the district for better medical facilities.
The report said a total of 80 patients were safely transported through the referral service, while two patients died during transportation.
According to Rescue 1122, its emergency and referral services are aimed at providing timely medical assistance to patients and accident victims in remote areas of South Waziristan. The services also facilitate the safe transfer of patients to nearby or better-equipped medical facilities when required.
