Former PTI leader and prominent Nowshera political figure Muhammad Waleed Akhtar joins JUI-S with his family and hundreds of supporters.
NOWSHERA: Muhammad Waleed Akhtar, a former Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) leader and close associate of former Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Chief Minister Pervez Khattak, has joined Jamiat Ulema-e-Islam (S) along with his family and hundreds of supporters.
Akhtar, a prominent political and social figure from Nowshera, formally announced his decision to join the party and expressed full confidence in the leadership of JUI-S chief Maulana Abdul Haq Sani.
The joining ceremony was held at Akhtar’s residence in Nowshera Kalan and was attended by a large number of local residents, political and social figures, and party workers.
JUI-S leaders, including Maulana Abdul Haq Sani, Central General Secretary Maulana Syed Muhammad Yousaf Shah, Central Patron and District Emir Maulana Irfanul Haq Haqqani, Provincial General Secretary Maulana Abdul Hai Haqqani and District General Secretary Mufti Muhammad Amin Hakeem, addressed the gathering.
The speakers welcomed Akhtar and his supporters to JUI-S and expressed their resolve to further strengthen and organize the party’s political, religious and public role in Nowshera.
Akhtar’s move marks a notable political development at the local level, particularly given his previous association with PTI and his links with former provincial chief minister Pervez Khattak.
The gathering focused on expanding the party’s organizational and political presence in Nowshera, with JUI-S leaders emphasizing a more effective and organized role in addressing political, religious and public matters in the district.
