Maaz Sadaqat smashed 114 off 58 balls for Jamaica Kings in the CPL final, setting multiple records despite his team’s defeat.
BRIDGETOWN: Pakistan batter Maaz Sadaqat produced a record-breaking performance in the Caribbean Premier League (CPL) final, smashing 114 off 58 balls for Jamaica Kings against Antigua and Barbuda Falcons.
Sadaqat’s explosive innings featured eight fours and nine sixes, making him the first Pakistani batter to score a century in a franchise T20 final. His hundred was also the first century ever scored in a CPL final, adding further significance to his outstanding performance.
Despite Sadaqat’s remarkable contribution, Jamaica Kings were unable to secure the CPL title. Antigua and Barbuda Falcons completed the chase with two wickets down and 20 deliveries remaining.
Jamaica Kings posted 170 runs, with Sadaqat providing the overwhelming majority of the innings’ momentum. The Pakistani batter attacked from the beginning and combined powerful hitting with controlled strokeplay to keep the scoreboard moving despite wickets falling at the other end.
His nine sixes provided the highlight of the innings, while eight fours helped him reach his century in emphatic fashion. He eventually finished with 114 runs from 58 deliveries, producing one of the most memorable individual performances of the tournament.
However, the Falcons responded strongly during their chase and reached the required target with 20 balls to spare. The result left Sadaqat’s record-setting century on the losing side.
The final performance capped a remarkable campaign for the young Pakistani batter, who had already made CPL history earlier in the tournament.
During the Eliminator, Sadaqat smashed 112 from just 49 balls to become the youngest centurion in CPL history. His second century of the 2026 campaign further highlighted his consistency and attacking approach.
Across seven matches, Sadaqat finished the season with 363 runs at an average of 60.50 and a strike rate of 174.52.
Although Jamaica Kings missed out on the trophy, Sadaqat’s performances established him as one of the standout batters of the 2026 CPL season and placed his name in the competition’s record books.
