PM Shehbaz Sharif praised security forces for their operations in Quetta and Kech and paid tribute to Subedar Muhammad Jameel, who was killed in the line of duty.
NEW YORK: Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif has praised Pakistan’s security forces for killing 19 terrorists in separate operations in Balochistan, including 13 in the Shaban area of Quetta district.
In a statement issued by the Prime Minister’s Office on Wednesday, Shehbaz commended the security forces for what he described as a successful operation against what the government identifies as Indian-sponsored Fitna al-Khawarij and Fitna al-Hindustan.
The prime minister said the killing of six additional terrorists during intelligence-based operations in Kech district and western Quetta was evidence of the security forces’ effective strategy against terrorist elements.
The latest operations follow security operations in Balochistan targeting militant hideouts. The Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR) separately reported that 13 terrorists were killed during a clearance operation in Shaban, while six others were killed in separate intelligence-based operations in Kech and western Quetta.
Shehbaz also paid tribute to Subedar Muhammad Jameel, who was killed while defending the country. He said the soldier’s sacrifice was a source of pride for the nation and expressed his condolences to the martyr’s family.
The prime minister said security forces and law enforcement agencies would continue operations until terrorism was completely eliminated from the country.
He further said terrorism carried out with foreign sponsorship and support would be eliminated at all costs.
“The nation stands with its brave security forces and law enforcement agencies in the war against terrorism,” the prime minister said, according to the Prime Minister’s Office.
