Rawalpindi police have initiated a series of awareness walks to educate the public about the dangers of kite flying and aerial firing, following special instructions from CPO Syed Khalid Hamdani. The awareness campaign aims to inform citizens about the legal and safety consequences of these activities.
The latest awareness walk was conducted in various areas under the Westridge police station, with participation from DSP Cantt Chaudhry Khalid Mahmood, SHO Westridge, local traders’ associations, and a large number of community members. During the walk, the public was informed that kite flying is considered a non-bailable offense under the law, carrying a punishment of three to seven years in prison.
Officials urged citizens to refrain from engaging in illegal kite flying, aerial firing, fireworks, or any other unlawful activities. Parents were also asked to educate their children about the risks and legal consequences associated with these activities.
The police emphasized that strict legal action will be taken against anyone violating these regulations. The campaign reflects Rawalpindi police’s commitment to public safety, awareness, and preventing accidents caused by kite flying and unauthorized aerial firing.
The spokesperson for Rawalpindi police reiterated that cooperation from the community is crucial to ensure safety and prevent injuries during festive periods.
