Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif says Pakistan’s natural beauty, cultural heritage and religious sites can help expand tourism and support economic growth.
ISLAMABAD: Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif has highlighted Pakistan’s vast tourism potential, saying the government is taking practical steps to promote the country as a safe and attractive destination for international visitors.
In his message on World Tourism Day, Shehbaz said Pakistan had enormous potential for tourism and that the government was committed to showcasing the country’s natural beauty and cultural heritage to the world.
He highlighted Pakistan’s diverse climate, scenic mountain ranges and picturesque valleys, saying the country’s natural attractions could draw visitors from around the world.
The prime minister also emphasized Pakistan’s rich religious heritage, noting that the country is home to several historic and sacred sites associated with Sikhism, Buddhism and other faiths. He said these sites could contribute to the development of religious tourism.
Shehbaz said tourism could play an important role in strengthening Pakistan’s economy. Increased tourism activity can create employment opportunities, support local businesses and contribute to broader economic development.
He also noted that tourism can help strengthen relations between nations by bringing people from different cultures together. According to the prime minister, travelling and experiencing different cultures can broaden perspectives and contribute to the development of human potential.
Shehbaz reaffirmed the government’s commitment to developing Pakistan’s tourism sector and promoting the country’s natural, historical, cultural and religious attractions at the international level.
