Internet Services Partially Disrupted in Islamabad, Rawalpindi

Lorem Ipsum is simply dummy text of the printing and typesetting industry. Lorem Ipsum has been the industry’s standard dummy text ever since the 1500s, when an unknown printer took a galley of type and scrambled it to make a type specimen book. It has survived not only five centuries, but also the leap into electronic typesetting, remaining essentially unchanged.

It was popularised in the 1960s with the release of Letraset sheets containing Lorem Ipsum passages, and more recently with desktop publishing software like Aldus PageMaker including versions of Lorem Ipsum.

PTA says damage to a telecom operator’s network infrastructure disrupted internet services in parts of Islamabad and Rawalpindi.

ISLAMABAD: Internet services were partially disrupted in parts of Islamabad and Rawalpindi on Sunday, affecting mobile data and Wi-Fi users in several areas, according to the Pakistan Telecommunication Authority (PTA).

The disruption was linked to damage to a telecom operator’s network infrastructure, the regulator said. The issue affected some service providers in local and nearby areas of the twin cities.

Residents in the affected areas reported difficulties accessing the internet, with some users experiencing slow or unstable connectivity.

The PTA said internet services in the central and southern parts of the country were operating normally, while some areas in the northern region also experienced connectivity issues.

Technical teams were working to resolve the problem and restore normal internet services, according to the regulator. The PTA advised users not to be concerned and said efforts were underway to minimise the disruption.

However, the authority cautioned that complete restoration of internet services in the affected areas could take several hours.

The latest disruption comes amid previous instances of connectivity problems caused by faults affecting national and international telecommunications infrastructure. During such incidents, authorities and network operators have worked to reroute traffic and maintain services.

The PTA said further updates would be provided as restoration work progresses.
