CDA Intensifies Crackdown on Illegal Encroachments, Construction Across Islamabad

Lorem Ipsum is simply dummy text of the printing and typesetting industry. Lorem Ipsum has been the industry’s standard dummy text ever since the 1500s, when an unknown printer took a galley of type and scrambled it to make a type specimen book. It has survived not only five centuries, but also the leap into electronic typesetting, remaining essentially unchanged.

It was popularised in the 1960s with the release of Letraset sheets containing Lorem Ipsum passages, and more recently with desktop publishing software like Aldus PageMaker including versions of Lorem Ipsum.

CDA says action is being taken under the law against encroachments, unauthorized construction and illegal commercial activities across Islamabad.

The Capital Development Authority (CDA) has continued operations against illegal encroachments, unauthorized construction and unlawful commercial activities across Islamabad, with a focus on protecting public and government land.

According to the CDA, strict action is being taken against encroachments and construction carried out without approved building plans. Authorities are also targeting commercial activities and land use that violate applicable building control regulations.

The operations are being conducted in coordination with the district administration and other relevant departments. The Additional Deputy Commissioner (General) and concerned assistant commissioners are supervising the operations in their respective areas.

The CDA said particular attention is being given to the protection of government land, green areas, road reservations and public spaces. Government land in different parts of Islamabad is being cleared of encroachments as part of the ongoing operations.

The authority said action is also being taken against buildings constructed without approved maps and against activities involving incompatible land use or unauthorized commercialization.

Under the applicable laws and regulations, violations found during inspections may result in the removal of encroachments, demolition of illegal structures and sealing of buildings, the CDA said.

The authority emphasized that illegal encroachments on government and public land would not be tolerated and that enforcement against unauthorized construction and commercial activities would continue in accordance with the law.

CDA Chairman has directed officials to ensure transparency, consistency and the rule of law during enforcement operations. The authority said the instructions are aimed at ensuring that action is carried out uniformly and in accordance with established regulations.

The CDA said coordinated and effective operations against encroachments would continue to help maintain Islamabad as an organized city free from illegal occupation and unauthorized development.

The authority reiterated its commitment to continuing enforcement operations across the capital in accordance with the law.
