ISLAMABAD: Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif has praised Pakistan’s security forces for their ongoing operations against militants, particularly an intelligence-based operation in the Eidak area of North Waziristan in which seven militants were killed.
According to a statement issued by the Prime Minister’s Office on Friday, the prime minister paid tribute to the security forces for the operation and commended their performance in targeting militant elements.
Shehbaz said the organized operations against militants reflected the professional capabilities of the security forces as well as the country’s national resolve to counter such threats.
He also praised the forces for destroying the hideouts of militants belonging to Fitna al-Khawarij during the operation.
“The security forces and law enforcement agencies’ officers and personnel are guaranteeing the country’s peace and security through their outstanding performance,” the prime minister said, according to the statement.
Shehbaz said the entire nation stood alongside the security forces in countering what he described as the “nefarious designs” of Fitna al-Khawarij militants.
He said operations against all militant elements would continue until their elimination.
“The entire nation is proud of its brave armed forces,” the prime minister said.
The Prime Minister’s Office statement identified the operation as part of the security forces’ ongoing efforts against militant elements in North Waziristan. It said the operation was intelligence-based and resulted in seven militants being killed, while their hideouts were also destroyed.
