KP Governor Faisal Karim Kundi, Amir Muqam Discuss Security Situation and Long March

Lorem Ipsum is simply dummy text of the printing and typesetting industry. Lorem Ipsum has been the industry’s standard dummy text ever since the 1500s, when an unknown printer took a galley of type and scrambled it to make a type specimen book. It has survived not only five centuries, but also the leap into electronic typesetting, remaining essentially unchanged.

It was popularised in the 1960s with the release of Letraset sheets containing Lorem Ipsum passages, and more recently with desktop publishing software like Aldus PageMaker including versions of Lorem Ipsum.

KP Governor Faisal Karim Kundi and Federal Minister Amir Muqam discuss provincial security, the recent long march and political stability.

ISLAMABAD: Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Gov. Faisal Karim Kundi and Federal Minister for Kashmir Affairs and Gilgit-Baltistan Amir Muqam discussed the province’s security situation, the recent long march and key political issues during a meeting, according to a joint statement issued after the talks.

The statement said both leaders expressed gratitude to the people of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa and maintained that residents had rejected the politics of disorder. They said the public wanted peace, stability and development in the province.

According to the statement, the leaders emphasized that political stability and a peaceful environment were essential for addressing public concerns and improving daily life across Khyber Pakhtunkhwa.

Security situation and federal support

The meeting included a detailed discussion of law and order in the province. Both leaders expressed their commitment to the federal government taking all possible measures to support peace and promote public development in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa.

The joint statement identified the protection of citizens’ lives and property, along with the continuation of development activities, as government priorities.

The discussions also covered the recent long march and related political issues. Kundi and Muqam stressed the importance of responsible political conduct and prioritizing public interests to address the challenges facing the province.

Focus on counterterrorism and lasting peace

The leaders also highlighted terrorism and the need to establish lasting peace in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa.

According to their stated position, residents have faced the effects of insecurity for an extended period. They emphasized that effective measures by relevant institutions and governments would be necessary to achieve sustainable peace in the province.

The statement reiterated that the federal government would continue playing its role in improving law and order, promoting public welfare and supporting development projects in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa.

Both leaders stressed that residents should benefit from peace, stability and development rather than continued political tensions.

Public response remains a political claim

The meeting comes amid political differences among parties over the long march and the province’s security situation.

The joint statement’s assertion that the people of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa had rejected the politics of disorder represents the position expressed by Kundi and Muqam. Independent evidence, including representative public-opinion data or other supporting material, would be needed to establish whether that claim reflects the views of the province’s wider population.

The statement did not provide specific public-opinion figures or other evidence to substantiate the assertion.

The leaders’ stated commitments focused on security, political stability and continued development, with an emphasis on protecting citizens and improving conditions across the province.
