US Releases New Epstein Files Naming Several High Profile Figures

The US Justice Department has released a new batch of documents related to the crimes of convicted sex offender Jeffrey Epstein reigniting public debate over his associations with powerful figures. Epstein died in 2019 while in federal custody and no new criminal charges have been filed as a result of the disclosures.

The newly unsealed files reference several prominent individuals, including US President Donald Trump, Britain’s Prince Andrew tech entrepreneur Elon Musk Microsoft co founder Bill Gates and Virgin Group founder Richard Branson. The documents largely consist of witness statements, emails and references contained in prior investigations and civil proceedings.

President Trump is mentioned multiple times in the records, including unproven allegations involving a minor.Trump has strongly denied the claims. Prince Andrew, who has faced longstanding allegations linked to Epstein is again referenced he has previously denied all wrongdoing.

Elon Musk is mentioned in correspondence in which he allegedly asked about attending social gatherings linked to Epstein.Bill Gates appears in relation to Epstein’s past claims about a personal relationship, which Gates’ spokesperson has described as completely false. An email exchange between Epstein and Richard Branson is also cited, though Branson’s representatives deny any involvement in Epstein’s criminal conduct.

Officials emphasized that appearing in the documents does not imply guilt. The release has nonetheless renewed scrutiny of Epstein’s network and the extent of his connections.
