Leaders stress interfaith harmony and continued efforts for peace after tragic incident in Peshawar.
PESHAWAR: A joint delegation of the Muttahida Aman Committee Peshawar and Muharram Committee Imamia Jirga visited Imamia Colony in Gulbahar to offer condolences to the families of victims of the recent tragedy.
The delegation, led by Advocate Maulana Hussain Ahmed Madani and Akhunzada Muzaffar Ali, met with the families of Shaheed Saqib Ali and Shaheed Faisal Ali, expressing deep grief and solidarity.
A large number of community leaders, religious figures, and local officials attended the condolence gathering, including members of the peace committee, police representatives, and elders from various sects.
Speaking on the occasion, Madani praised the role of law enforcement and the Muharram Committee in maintaining peace and promoting inter-sect unity. He commended Muzaffar Ali’s efforts in strengthening Sunni-Shia harmony and emphasized that such unity is vital to controlling difficult situations in the future.
“We respect all beliefs. We neither abandon our faith nor interfere in others’ beliefs. This tradition has been passed down to us by our elders,” Madani said, reaffirming commitment to mutual respect and coexistence.
He assured residents that the Aman Committee would continue to support the community, especially during Muharram and other challenging times.
The gathering concluded with collective prayers for lasting peace in Peshawar, safety of its citizens, and an end to terrorism and sectarian violence. Participants also prayed for the elevation of the martyrs’ ranks and swift recovery of the injured.
