Jail authorities finalize balanced meal plan to facilitate inmates during the holy month of Ramadan
RAWALPINDI: With the arrival of Ramadan, authorities at Adiala Jail have finalized special arrangements for Sehri and Iftar to ensure inmates can observe fasting in a supportive and spiritually conducive environment.
According to jail sources, balanced and nutritious meals will be provided at Sehri to help prisoners maintain energy throughout the day. The pre-dawn meal will include roti and paratha, along with egg, chicken, lentils and vegetables. Tea will also be served to facilitate a complete and comfortable Sehri experience.
For Iftar, inmates will be given dates in accordance with Sunnah, along with milk-based sherbet to help restore energy levels. The evening menu also features samosas, chicken, and daal chawal. Meat dishes will be included three times a week to ensure dietary variety, in line with the official jail manual. These items will be served on alternate days as per schedule.
Officials stated that Ramadan emphasizes reform, patience and worship, and prisons strive to create an environment where inmates can fulfill their religious obligations. Authorities added that all arrangements are being closely monitored to prevent any shortcomings during the holy month.
