Islamabad: The Anti-Narcotics Force (ANF) has intensified its crackdown against drug trafficking networks, carrying out multiple operations across the country that resulted in the arrest of six suspects and the seizure of 43.5 kilograms of hashish valued at more than Rs3.2 million.
According to ANF officials, a total of three operations were conducted in different cities targeting suspected drug smugglers and suppliers. The operations led to the recovery of significant quantities of narcotics and the detention of individuals allegedly involved in trafficking activities.
In one of the major inter-provincial drug interdiction operations, ANF personnel intercepted a vehicle near the Islamabad Toll Plaza and recovered 18 kilograms of hashish. Four suspects were arrested during the operation and taken into custody for further investigation.
In a separate domestic drug interdiction operation near a hospital on GT Road in Rawalpindi, ANF officials recovered 8.7 kilograms of hashish from a rickshaw. Two suspects were apprehended at the scene and are being questioned regarding the source and intended destination of the narcotics.
Meanwhile, another operation near a college in Mansehra resulted in the seizure of 16.8 kilograms of hashish from a vehicle. Authorities said the recovery was part of ongoing efforts to curb the movement and distribution of illegal drugs across the country.
ANF officials reiterated their commitment to combating narcotics trafficking and disrupting criminal networks involved in the illegal drug trade. The force continues to conduct intelligence-based operations to prevent the spread of narcotics and protect communities from drug-related crimes.
Cases have been registered against the suspects under the provisions of the Control of Narcotic Substances Act (CNSA) 1997, and further investigations are underway.
