Police initiative aims to improve vehicle visibility at night and reduce road accidents.
BAHAWALNAGAR: The traffic police in Bahawalnagar have launched an ongoing campaign to install reflective stickers on rickshaws and loader vehicles in an effort to enhance road safety, particularly during nighttime travel.
The initiative is being carried out under the directives of District Police Officer Muhammad Imran. According to officials, the Education Unit of the traffic police has been actively visiting different locations across the district to equip vehicles with reflectors.
Authorities stated that the primary objective of the campaign is to make vehicles more visible on roads after dark, thereby reducing the risk of accidents. Rickshaws and loader vehicles, which often lack proper lighting or visibility features, are considered particularly vulnerable during nighttime operations.
In addition to installing reflectors, traffic police teams are also conducting awareness sessions for drivers, educating them about traffic laws and road safety practices. Officials emphasized that compliance with traffic regulations is essential for ensuring the safety of both drivers and pedestrians.
District Traffic Officer Akhlaq Ahmed said that the use of reflectors significantly improves visibility on roads and can play a key role in preventing accidents. He urged drivers to cooperate with authorities and adopt safety measures.
Local residents have welcomed the initiative and expressed support for the campaign, acknowledging its importance in enhancing public safety.
Meanwhile, Muhammad Imran reiterated that adherence to traffic laws and the use of safety tools like reflectors are critical to protecting human lives and ensuring safer journeys.
