CDA board approves major restructuring, replaces DG Land & Rehabilitation with DG Land & Estate in Islamabad
ISLAMABAD: In a significant administrative overhaul, the Capital Development Authority (CDA) has abolished the post of Director General Land & Rehabilitation and introduced a new position titled Director General Land & Estate, marking a notable shift in the authority’s land management structure.
The decision was formally approved during a CDA board meeting, signaling a strategic move to streamline operations related to land affairs in the federal capital. Following the approval, the Human Resource Development (HRD-III) wing issued an official notification confirming the changes.
According to officials, the restructuring aims to consolidate responsibilities and improve efficiency in handling land-related matters, including estate management, regulation, and development oversight. The newly created DG Land & Estate role is expected to centralize key functions that were previously divided.
The move comes amid increasing scrutiny over land governance in Islamabad, where issues such as encroachments, housing schemes, and estate management have remained under focus. Analysts suggest that this structural shift could enhance coordination and accountability within the authority.
