Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif says law enforcement agencies will continue action against terrorist elements until terrorism is completely eliminated.
ISLAMABAD: Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif on Tuesday expressed concern over recent terrorist incidents in Dera Ismail Khan and conveyed his deep grief over the deaths of four customs officials and a traffic officer.
In a statement issued by the Prime Minister’s Office on Oct. 6, Shehbaz said the recent incidents of terrorism in Dera Ismail Khan were a matter of concern.
The prime minister expressed deep sorrow over the deaths of the four customs officials and a traffic officer who were killed in terrorist firing.
He extended his condolences to the families of the deceased officials and said the government stood with the bereaved families during their difficult time.
“Dera Ismail Khan’s recent terrorist incidents are a matter of concern,” the prime minister said, according to the Prime Minister’s Office.
Shehbaz also reiterated that law enforcement agencies would continue taking strong action against terrorist elements until terrorism was completely eliminated.
The statement did not provide further details about the circumstances of the attacks, the identities of the deceased officials or any arrests.
The prime minister’s remarks came amid continued security concerns in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, where security and law enforcement personnel have faced attacks by militant groups in various areas.
The Prime Minister’s Office said the government remained committed to continuing action against terrorist elements and expressed solidarity with the families affected by the latest incidents in Dera Ismail Khan.
