Police have launched an investigation after a factory worker was found dead, while family members claim financial stress caused by a Rs42,000 electricity bill contributed to the incident.
A factory worker was found dead after an apparent suicide at his home in the Bhutanpura area on the outskirts of Kot Radha Kishan, prompting a police investigation into the circumstances surrounding the incident.
According to police and the victim’s family, the worker had been under severe mental stress in recent days after receiving an electricity bill of Rs42,000. Relatives alleged that the unexpected financial burden had become a major source of anxiety and may have contributed to his death.
Police responded to the scene after receiving information and transferred the body to a nearby hospital for a post-mortem examination. Legal formalities have also been completed.
Investigators said they are collecting statements from family members and reviewing all available evidence to determine the exact cause and circumstances of the death.
