CDA expands fire safety inspections across Islamabad, warning building owners and administrations of further legal action over non-compliance.
The Capital Development Authority (CDA) has launched a strict crackdown on fire safety violations in Islamabad following directives from the federal government, sealing five buildings and imposing fines on three major hospitals.
The sealed properties include Shaheed-e-Millat Secretariat, State Life Building, TDAP Building, Beverly Centre and Crown Plaza for failing to comply with fire safety requirements.
The CDA also imposed fines of Rs500,000 each on Capital Hospital, Polyclinic Hospital and Pakistan Institute of Medical Sciences (PIMS) over violations of fire safety regulations.
As part of the ongoing campaign, the CDA has expanded fire safety inspections across Islamabad. Authorities are checking firefighting equipment, emergency exits and evacuation arrangements to ensure buildings meet required safety standards.
The civic authority has directed building owners and administrations to immediately complete all necessary fire safety arrangements and comply with applicable regulations.
The CDA warned that continued non-compliance would result in strict legal action.
