Flight operations at Islamabad International Airport will be temporarily suspended for several hours today due to operational reasons, according to a notice issued by the Pakistan Civil Aviation Authority.
The aviation authority released a Notice to Airmen (NOTAM) stating that flight movements at the airport will remain suspended from 10:00 AM to 1:15 PM. During this period, no arrivals or departures will take place at Islamabad International Airport.
Officials also stated that certain air routes within the Lahore Flight Information Region will be temporarily unavailable. The partial closure of these air corridors may cause disruptions in the flight schedules of several airlines operating in the region.
The aviation authority warned that passengers may experience delays or adjustments to flight timings as airlines manage operations around the restricted airspace. Airlines have also been instructed to carry additional fuel reserves to account for potential route changes or holding patterns caused by the temporary airspace restrictions.
The Pakistan Civil Aviation Authority advised travelers to stay in contact with their respective airlines for updated flight information before heading to the airport. Officials emphasized that the temporary suspension is a precautionary operational measure and normal flight operations are expected to resume after the specified time.
