Victim identified as a health department worker; attackers flee as investigation begins
SOUTH WAZIRISTAN LOWER: A man was shot dead by unidentified gunmen in Wana, the main town of South Waziristan Lower district, officials said.
The incident took place near Shaheed Mor Shakot during the evening, when assailants opened fire, killing Arif, son of Ghulam Nabi, on the spot. Local sources said the victim belonged to the Wazir Toje Khel tribe and was associated with the health department.
Police said the attackers fled the scene immediately after the shooting, and no arrests have been made so far. Initial information indicates no clear evidence of personal enmity, leaving the motive behind the killing uncertain.
Security forces and law enforcement personnel reached the site soon after the incident and launched a search operation. Authorities have tightened security in the area and are collecting evidence from the scene.
