NOWSHERA: (Anwarzeb Khan) Police in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa’s Nowshera district have arrested the alleged ringleader of an inter-district motorcycle gang involved in mobile phone snatching, officials said.
The arrest was made during a targeted operation by Azakhel police following a reported snatching incident along the Grand Trunk (GT) Road near Pirpai. According to police, the victim, Kaleem Ullah, a resident of Sheikh Ismail Banda, reported that he was talking on his mobile phone when two suspects riding a motorcycle approached from the Nowshera side, snatched his phone, and fled the scene.
District Police Officer Ahmed Shah directed authorities to launch an immediate investigation. Under the supervision of SDPO Cantt Circle Hafeez Yousafzai, Station House Officer Waqar Yousaf and his team initiated a probe using modern investigative techniques.
Police said the investigation led to the identification and arrest of the suspected gang leader, Arslan, son of Nazeer, a resident of Pirpai. Authorities believe the suspect is linked to multiple mobile snatching incidents across districts.
