Iran’s Supreme Leader Mojtaba Khamenei has said that the country’s enemies severely misjudged Iran’s strength, stating that their expectations failed during recent tensions. In a message marking the beginning of the Iranian New Year he said the United States and Israel believed that a few days of attacks would trigger internal unrest and lead to the collapse of Iran’s government. However he stressed that these assumptions proved wrong.
He further claimed that adversaries thought targeting Iran’s senior leadership and influential military figures would spread fear among the population and pave the way for division. Instead, he said, the Iranian people demonstrated strong unity setting aside religious political cultural and ideological differences.
Khamenei also emphasized the importance of regional cooperation, offering to mediate and support improved relations between Pakistan and Afghanistan. He noted that Iran values its neighboring countries and supports stronger ties among Muslim nations.
He denied Iran’s involvement in alleged attacks on Turkey and Oman calling them false flag operations and warning that similar incidents could occur elsewhere.
