Islamabad Introduces Instant QR Code Verification for Taxi and Bikeya Services
ISLAMABAD: (Yaseen Hashmi) The district administration of Islamabad has taken a major step to regulate taxi and bikeya services by launching a formal registration dashboard, officials said on Monday.
A key meeting on registration was held under the chairmanship of the Deputy Commissioner (DC) Islamabad, where the Additional Deputy Commissioner East provided a detailed briefing on the new system.
Under the initiative, residents can now instantly verify any taxi or bikeya service by scanning a QR code. The official registration process for all taxi and bikeya operators in the federal capital will begin from tomorrow.
Service providers can register easily through the Islamabad City App. Drivers will be required to enter the passenger’s CNIC number and travel details, ensuring accurate record-keeping.
DC Islamabad emphasized that the measure aims to provide citizens with safe and reliable transport options, allowing verification with a single click and enhancing the overall safety of public travel.
This system is expected to reduce unregistered operations and improve accountability in the city’s growing urban transport sector.
