Jazz has expanded its 5G footprint to 1,000 live sites across 10 cities and plans to reach 2,500 sites by the end of 2026.
Jazz has upgraded 1,000 sites to 5G across Pakistan, becoming the first mobile operator in the country to reach the milestone as it accelerates the expansion of next-generation mobile services.
According to a presentation shared by Jazz, the operator’s 5G network has grown from around 180 live sites at the launch of its 5G services to 1,000 sites. Jazz is targeting 2,500 live 5G sites by the end of 2026.
The company said its 5G network currently covers 10 cities, including major urban centres and metropolitan areas, as part of a broader network modernisation programme.
Jazz has also significantly expanded its spectrum holdings following Pakistan’s latest spectrum auction. The operator acquired an additional 190 MHz, taking its total spectrum holdings from 94.4 MHz to 284.4 MHz.
The newly acquired spectrum includes 20 MHz in the 700 MHz band, 50 MHz in the 2300 MHz band, 70 MHz in the 2600 MHz band and 50 MHz in the 3500 MHz band.
Jazz said the expanded spectrum portfolio will support both the growth of its 5G network and additional 4G capacity. This will allow the operator to increase network capacity and coverage as it continues its modernisation efforts.
The latest expansion comes as Pakistan’s mobile industry moves toward wider 5G adoption following the spectrum auction held earlier this year. Operators are now working to deploy 5G infrastructure and expand coverage in key markets.
