Rawalpindi: Speaking to the media outside Adiala Jail, PTI spokesperson Junaid Akbar addressed key issues concerning the party and its founder, former Prime Minister Imran Khan.
Akbar emphasized that family visits are a fundamental right of every prisoner, stressing that Khan’s recent visit was strictly in that context. He highlighted the growing public resentment toward those responsible for the current government, saying, “The founder of PTI is bearing the burden, and we will also endure it, but not everyone can withstand this.”
He warned against misconceptions, stating that filing additional cases will only make the situation more difficult. “Decisions of the courts are often known in advance, and the distance between institutions and the public is widening,” he said, criticizing the weakening of parliament and judiciary to diminish democratic processes.
Akbar reassured supporters that PTI leaders remain committed to peaceful political struggle. “We are political people, not guerrilla forces. We respect institutions but want a strong Pakistan. Oppression cannot end movements,” he said.
He concluded with a message of resolve: “When the day comes to stand for the truth, we will not step back. The nation’s heart beats with the founder of PTI, and we will endure all pressures until justice prevails.”
