Pakistan is witnessing growing calls for accountability after the deadly K2 Airways Flight 1732 crash near Ormara, as the families of the crew members accused the airline of remaining silent in the aftermath of the tragedy and demanded a transparent investigation.
In a joint statement, the relatives of the captain, co-pilot, flight engineers and loadmaster said they have received no official communication from K2 Airways since the crash. According to the families, no airline representative has contacted them to explain the circumstances of the accident or offer support during their time of grief.
The families said the airline’s silence has deepened their pain and fueled concerns that critical details about the crash could be withheld from the public. While expressing gratitude for the sympathy shown by people across Pakistan, they criticized the airline for failing to fulfill its responsibility toward the victims’ families.
The relatives appealed to Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif to personally oversee a fair and transparent investigation. They urged authorities to continue search and recovery operations in the Arabian Sea using advanced underwater technology to locate the wreckage, recover the remains of the crew members, and retrieve the aircraft’s flight data recorder and cockpit voice recorder.
They also called for international technical assistance if required to complete the deep-sea recovery mission. The families stressed that an independent inquiry should examine aircraft maintenance records, operational procedures, management decisions, and all technical and administrative factors surrounding the crash.
