WANA: (Roshan Khan) Jamaat-e-Islami South Waziristan Lower organized a rally in Rustam Bazaar, Wana, on Kashmir Solidarity Day to express support for the people of Indian-administered Kashmir, organizers and participants said.
The rally was led by District Chief Asadullah Bhir and attended by party workers and local residents. Participants chanted slogans in favor of Kashmir’s independence and protested against alleged human rights violations in Indian-administered Kashmir.
Addressing the gathering, Asadullah Bhir said Kashmir Solidarity Day was first observed in 1990 under the leadership of former Jamaat-e-Islami Chief Qazi Hussain Ahmad. He stated that the annual observance aims to convey Pakistan’s support for the Kashmiri people and their right to self-determination.
Asadullah Bhir praised the sacrifices made by Kashmiris and said Pakistanis would continue to raise their voices for Kashmir until the region achieves freedom. He added that the Pakistani nation stands united in support of the Kashmiri cause.
Participants carried placards and banners displaying slogans supporting Kashmiris’ right to self-determination. The rally remained peaceful, with attendees reiterating their demand for international attention toward the Kashmir dispute.
