PESHAWAR (Roshan Khan) — Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Chief Minister Suhail Afridi on Tuesday expressed deep sorrow over the deadly fire at Karachi’s Gul Plaza, calling the incident tragic and heartbreaking.
In a statement issued from Peshawar, the chief minister offered heartfelt condolences to the families of those who lost their lives in the blaze and said he shared their grief in this difficult time. He also prayed for the swift recovery of those injured, asking God to grant them complete healing.
Afridi described the incident as a moment of reflection for the entire nation, emphasizing that no value surpasses human life. He said serious and effective measures are urgently needed to prevent such tragedies in the future.
“The protection of life and property of the people is the state’s foremost and fundamental responsibility,” the chief minister said, stressing the need for improved safety standards and enforcement.
He added that the entire nation stands in solidarity with the affected families during this period of sorrow and trial. The chief minister prayed for eternal peace for the deceased and patience and strength for their loved ones.
The fire at Gul Plaza resulted in multiple casualties and injuries, prompting renewed calls for stricter safety regulations.
