KP Governor Faisal Karim Kundi says anti-encroachment operations will continue without political influence, while authorities work to address power outages and complete public development projects.

PESHAWAR: Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Gov. Faisal Karim Kundi has vowed to take indiscriminate action against encroachments across the province, saying no political recommendation will be accepted to protect those occupying public spaces.

Speaking during an inspection of an anti-encroachment operation, Kundi said authorities would identify and remove encroachments wherever they existed, stressing that the campaign would cover the entire province.

“There will be no political recommendations in the removal of encroachments,” Kundi said, adding that action would be taken against those found violating the rules.

The governor also addressed concerns related to wheat, saying action would be taken once a report on the matter was received. He did not provide further details about the report or the potential action.

Kundi said development projects intended to benefit the public would be completed as soon as possible. He also warned that those responsible for launching projects for financial gains, rather than delivering public benefits, would face action.

Power outages and electricity recovery

Discussing electricity shortages, the governor said work was underway to address the problem. He also stressed the need to improve electricity recovery and curb power theft.

“The days of electricity theft are over,” Kundi said, emphasizing the importance of recovering outstanding dues to support electricity generation.

He added that there was no conflict between the federal government and the provincial government, expressing a commitment to maintaining good relations with the federation and all other provinces.

Traffic management and road access

Kundi also spoke about traffic management in the city, saying traffic laws would be enforced. He said the road in front of the High Court would be reopened that day.

The governor’s remarks covered a range of administrative issues, including the removal of encroachments, accountability in development projects, wheat-related concerns, electricity shortages and traffic regulation.

His stated position was that action against encroachments would be taken without discrimination, while public development projects should be completed promptly and those responsible for misuse of project funding should be held accountable.
