Peshawar: (Click Pakistan) Khyber Pakhtunkhaw government has imposed registration of CP Fund accounts on employees making salary payment to the employees subject to adherence to the new requirement as a result of an official notification by the provincial Finance Department.
The media reports indicated that the department has ordered that the salaries of government employees will only be disbursed upon successful registration of their CP Fund accounts. Those employees that will not have registered within the required stipulated deadline will be regarded as non-compliant.
The notification has clearly mentioned that starting February 20 salaries will not be given to employees whose accounts in the CP Fund are not registered. The relocation is meant to enhance financial discipline and promote transparency on forms of salary and pension related issues.
Based on the Finance Department, the system of CP Fund will assist in streamlining financial management, easy payment of pensions and other post-retirement benefits, and reducing errors and unauthorized payments that may be contained in the official records.
This, however, is made clear in the notification that workers who have been employed on ad hoc or contract basis are not entitled to the scheme of the CP Fund and thus are not subject to this requirement. It is a strict policy concerning permanent employees who are under the provincial government.
Finance Department has directed all departments and attached offices to take immediate action and notify all subordinate staff on the same and get the registration process completed within the stipulated time to prevent any disruptions in salaries.
