Lahore Police say intelligence-led operations have led to the arrest of thousands of suspects and the recovery of stolen cash and valuables worth more than Rs616 million.
LAHORE: Lahore Police have recovered stolen cash and valuables worth more than Rs616 million after dismantling 1,559 criminal gangs in a citywide crackdown conducted so far this year, according to an official performance report.
The report states that police arrested 3,379 suspected gang members during intelligence-based operations aimed at disrupting organized criminal networks operating across the provincial capital.
Recovered property includes 114 tolas of gold, 42 vehicles, 1,083 motorcycles, 4,006 mobile phones and 46 laptops. Authorities said all recovered items have been returned to their rightful owners after the completion of legal procedures.
Capital City Police Officer (CCPO) Bilal Siddique Kamyana said the campaign against organized crime remains a top priority and will continue across Lahore. He emphasized that the process of returning recovered property is being carried out transparently to ensure public trust.
The CCPO also reaffirmed the department’s commitment to bringing criminal networks to justice and ensuring offenders are prosecuted under the law. He directed senior police officers to closely monitor crime-control measures in their respective jurisdictions and ordered the formation of specialized teams to strengthen intelligence-led operations.
According to police, these dedicated teams will focus on organized gangs, proclaimed offenders and absconding suspects in an effort to further improve law and order across the city.
