The federal government has appointed DG (C) Major General Faisal Naseer as NACTA’s national coordinator for a three-year term.
ISLAMABAD: The federal government has appointed DG (C) Major General Faisal Naseer, Hilal-i-Imtiaz (Military) and Tamgha-i-Basalat, as the National Coordinator of the National Counter Terrorism Authority (NACTA).
The Establishment Division has formally issued a notification confirming his appointment for a three-year term.
Major General Faisal Naseer is an experienced officer with extensive exposure to counterterrorism operations. His appointment comes against the backdrop of ongoing efforts to counter terrorism in Balochistan and Khyber Pakhtunkhwa.
The appointment of a senior military officer with counterterrorism experience to head NACTA’s national coordination role is being viewed as significant in the context of the security situation and ongoing counterterrorism operations in the two provinces.
As NACTA’s national coordinator, Faisal Naseer will assume a key role in coordinating the authority’s counterterrorism-related responsibilities at the national level.
The federal government’s decision places particular focus on national coordination at a time when security operations against terrorism remain ongoing in parts of the country.
The notification formally establishes Major General Faisal Naseer’s three-year tenure in the position.
