Two Toddlers Killed as Room Roof Collapses in Mardan, Mother and Teen Sister Critically Injured

Lorem Ipsum is simply dummy text of the printing and typesetting industry. Lorem Ipsum has been the industry’s standard dummy text ever since the 1500s, when an unknown printer took a galley of type and scrambled it to make a type specimen book. It has survived not only five centuries, but also the leap into electronic typesetting, remaining essentially unchanged.

It was popularised in the 1960s with the release of Letraset sheets containing Lorem Ipsum passages, and more recently with desktop publishing software like Aldus PageMaker including versions of Lorem Ipsum.

Emergency responders rescued the injured from the debris after a sudden roof collapse in Mardan’s Rustam Kalo Dheri area, where two toddlers lost their lives.

MARDAN: A tragic roof collapse in the Rustam Kalo Dheri area of Mardan claimed the lives of two young children and left their mother and teenage sister critically injured, according to rescue officials.

Rescue 1122 said emergency medical and rescue teams reached the scene immediately after receiving the alert. Responders carried out a rescue operation, pulling the injured family members from beneath the rubble before providing first aid. They were later shifted to Mardan Medical Complex (MMC) for further treatment.

The victims who lost their lives were identified as two-year-old Muhammad Hussain and one-year-old Zunaira. The injured include the children’s mother and their 14-year-old sister, both of whom were reported to be in critical condition.

The incident has left residents of the area in mourning. Neighbors and local residents expressed condolences to the bereaved family and urged the relevant authorities to investigate the cause of the roof collapse and determine whether structural weaknesses or other factors contributed to the tragedy.

Roof collapse incidents occasionally occur during Pakistan’s monsoon season, when prolonged rainfall can weaken aging or poorly maintained buildings, highlighting the importance of regular structural inspections and safety measures.
