Embassy proceeds with solemn observance in Tehran, reaffirming diplomatic continuity and national unity amid regional unrest
TEHRAN: Pakistan’s embassy in Tehran marked Pakistan Day with a flag-hoisting ceremony held on embassy premises to commemorate the 1940 Lahore Resolution, amid heightened regional tensions and security alerts in the area.
The event was observed with simplicity and solemn dignity as embassy officials, diplomats, and a small group of Pakistani citizens gathered under tight security following recent regional strikes. Despite the sensitive environment, the ceremony proceeded without disruption.
The program opened with the reading of special messages from Pakistan’s President and Prime Minister, reaffirming national unity, resilience, and commitment to peace. Officials emphasized the importance of observing national occasions even in challenging circumstances abroad.
As the national anthem played, the green-and-white national flag was hoisted, symbolizing pride, continuity, and Pakistan’s enduring diplomatic presence in Iran. Embassy representatives noted that the mission remains fully operational and continues its routine diplomatic responsibilities.
Officials said the decision to hold the ceremony reflected resilience and a commitment to maintaining normal diplomatic engagement despite regional uncertainty. The gathering concluded with special prayers for the safety and well-being of Pakistanis residing in Iran, as well as for peace and stability across the broader region.
