ISLAMABAD In line with the government’s austerity measures to reduce expenses the Directorate General of Immigration & Passports has issued a new schedule for passport offices across the country.
Under the revised timings, passport offices will now operate from Monday to Thursday, instead of the usual five-day week. The change has been implemented as part of a fuel-saving strategy aimed at reducing operational costs.
The circular specifies that regional passport offices that operate 24 hours a day will continue to function on their regular schedules to ensure uninterrupted services. Additionally the Islamabad Easy Service Center will maintain its current shift system to cater to applicants efficiently.
The new working schedule was formally approved and released by the Director General of Immigration & Passports. Authorities have urged the public to plan their visits to passport offices according to the updated timings and noted that essential services will continue without disruption.
Officials emphasized that the revised schedule is a temporary measure under the government’s austerity and fuel saving policies and aims to ensure that services remain accessible while reducing operational expenses across the passport network.
