Pakistan Accelerates Health Reform Agenda as Attaullah Tarar Meets Federal Health Minister
Pakistan’s healthcare reform agenda came under discussion as Federal Minister for Information and Broadcasting Attaullah Tarar welcomed Federal Minister for National Health Services, Regulations and Coordination Kamal Azfar at DCD.
According to Tarar’s post on X, the meeting focused on the “transformative health reforms” being pursued under the leadership of Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif. The ministers discussed efforts aimed at strengthening healthcare services and improving access to quality medical care.
Tarar said the government’s continued commitment to health-sector reforms is intended to move Pakistan toward a healthier future, with quality healthcare available to citizens.
The discussion comes as healthcare remains a key public policy challenge in Pakistan, where improving service delivery, strengthening health infrastructure and ensuring wider access to quality treatment remain important priorities.
The government’s reform agenda is expected to focus on improving the effectiveness of public healthcare services while addressing longstanding challenges in access and quality.
Sustained implementation will be crucial for translating policy decisions into improvements that citizens can experience at hospitals and other healthcare facilities.
