Pakistan Hockey Enters New Era as PHF Unveils Game-Changing GPS Technology

Lorem Ipsum is simply dummy text of the printing and typesetting industry. Lorem Ipsum has been the industry’s standard dummy text ever since the 1500s, when an unknown printer took a galley of type and scrambled it to make a type specimen book. It has survived not only five centuries, but also the leap into electronic typesetting, remaining essentially unchanged.

It was popularised in the 1960s with the release of Letraset sheets containing Lorem Ipsum passages, and more recently with desktop publishing software like Aldus PageMaker including versions of Lorem Ipsum.

Pakistan Hockey Federation adopts advanced GPS player tracking technology to enhance fitness, performance analysis, injury prevention, and long-term player development.

Pakistan hockey has taken a significant step toward embracing modern sports science as the Pakistan Hockey Federation (PHF) introduced an advanced GPS player tracking system to improve player performance, fitness, and injury prevention.

The GPS technology will enable coaches and performance analysts to monitor players in real time, collecting detailed data on speed, movement patterns, distance covered, physical workload, and recovery levels during training sessions and competitive matches.

According to PHF officials, the information gathered through the system will help create personalized training programs tailored to each player’s physical condition. The scientific approach is expected to reduce the risk of injuries caused by fatigue and overtraining while maximizing athletic performance.

The federation said the initiative aligns Pakistan hockey with leading international teams, including Australia, the Netherlands, Germany, and Belgium, where GPS-based performance monitoring has become a standard tool for elite athlete development.

Officials added that the technology will improve coaching decisions regarding workload management, fitness planning, and recovery schedules throughout the season. Rather than using a uniform training model, coaches will now be able to customize sessions based on individual performance data.
