Joint intelligence-based operations in Khyber and Nushki eliminate 32 militants as Pakistan’s security forces continue nationwide counterterrorism efforts.
Pakistan’s security forces eliminated 32 militants during a series of intelligence-based operations carried out over the past 24 hours in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa and Balochistan, according to the military’s media wing, the Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR).
In a statement issued on social media platform X, ISPR said the operations targeted militant hideouts in Khyber district and Nushki district as part of an ongoing counterterrorism campaign.
According to the military, multiple area sanitisation and targeted operations were conducted overnight in Khyber district, where security forces engaged several militant locations and killed 24 militants. Separate intelligence-based operations in Nushki district of Balochistan resulted in the deaths of eight more militants after what ISPR described as an intense exchange of fire.
The military said security forces also recovered and destroyed weapons, ammunition and improvised explosive devices during the operations.
ISPR added that sanitisation operations are continuing in the affected areas to locate and eliminate any remaining militants and their facilitators.
The DG ISPR stated on X that the operations are being conducted under the national counterterrorism campaign “Azm-e-Istehkam,” approved by the Federal Apex Committee under the National Action Plan, reaffirming that security forces and law enforcement agencies will continue efforts to eliminate militancy and foreign-sponsored terrorism across Pakistan.
